The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started the exercise of rescuing 26 people who were abducted from Yumbe last week.

Armed men raided Kuchi village, point K, and Nyamunyamu in Yumbe district abducting several people among teenagers aged 12 years.

Fred Enanga the police spokesman says the efforts are spearheaded by the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura and ministry of Foreign affairs.

He says the force is also investigating the matter to establish whether the attackers were rebels or belong to other covert groups.
