The official car that was allocated to the former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi was impounded in a swoop that was going on around Kampala targeting government vehicles.

The black pajero registration number UG 0534Z was intercepted on Wednesday 20, 2016 by traffic officers of Uganda Police along Nile Avenue near Serena Hotel.

Despite several explanations by the driver about the status of the car, the officers stuck to their guns and instructed the driver to head to Kololo Airstrip where other government vehicles were assembling. The obliged and handed the car over.

Amama’s camp says they have inquired about the status of the government vehicles of other former Prime Ministers. The vehicles are still in the custody of the former Prime Ministers.

Hon. Mbabazi says he will handle the matter administratively with the concerned officers in the Office of the Prime Minister to seek an explanation and redress.
