The police has this morning issued a terror alert on planned attack by the alshabaab on the Entebbe International Airport and other government buildings..

The alert follows an intelligence report to the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura at the beginning of last week the police has this morning issued a terror alert on planned attack by the alshabaab on the Entebbe International Airport , Church, Mosque, Schools, as well as market,

The report which has been undergoing counter intelligence by the Counter terrorism Directorate has since been approved.

According to the deputy police spokesperson Polly Namaye police has since increased its deployment at the airport and other government installations as well as alert on public places.

"We have received intelligence that terrorists are targeting the airport and other key government installation. We want to remind the public to be alert and vigilant," Namaye said while addressing the media this morning at police headquarters in Naguru.

Entebbe airport security and police have been given orders to police the airport as a high risk area.

This is the first terror alert that police has issued since the beginning of the year.
