Government has earmarked 70 billion shillings for the renovation of Kayunga general hospital.

The hospital was constructed 44 years ago and is currently in a sorry state with most of the equipment already broken down with many patients shunning it.

The Kayunga district chairperson Tom Sserwanga says the hospital is to undergo major repairs which will include expansion and construction.

The construction work is expected to begin in January 2017.
