Samia Yaba Nkuruma, the daughter of Ghana’s First president Dr. Nkwame Nkuluma says the only solution that can see Africa thrive economically is by having a political unity among African governments.

According to her, since African countries obtained their respective independence,   all African countries have not moved anywhere towards achieving political unit.

She was speaking during a high level dialogue among African leaders and stakeholders at Sheraton hotel Kampala organised under the theme ‘’ Positioning Africa for The 21st century.
At the same event, the deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah noted that if Africa is to register democracy and development we need to reorganize and revise our strategies away from the colonial targets.
Oulanya explains that Africa is challenged by the colonial legacy that he claims has tied it for many years and that it is high time to think as independent Africa but not subjects of the colonial masters.
