Budget meetings stall at KCCA after Musisi's resignation announcement

By Robert Segawa

The Kampala Lord mayor Erias Lukwago advised that the budget process of the authority be stalled after the resignation if the executive director Jennifer Musisi.

This was after Musisi's resignation notice to president Museveni which will take effect on 15th December 2018.

Speaking during the on going council meeting at city hall,  Lukwago said they are supposed to meet with technical wing next week to kick start the budgeting process for the financial year 2019_2020.

He says that now the meetings can't proceed without the authority having both the substantive executive director and deputy.

He notes that the deadline for handing in the budget is 15th November but the ministry of finance unlikely to give them extra time.

Jennifer Musisi wrote her resignation letter to the president last week. Since then, there has been mixed reactions on Musisi's contribution towards her seven years on job as KCCA top boss. She stated that one of the reasons she has thrown in the towel is lack of political will by the people of Kampala to embrace change.

The Lord mayor has also come out to openly express happiness about this her move.
