Churches benefited more from candidate's donations during the campaigns -Report

2.4 trillion shillings was spent during the presidential and parliamentary race held in February 2016 elections indicates a new report released Thursday   by civil society organizations   Alliance for campaign finance monitoring and transparency international.
According to the report the ruling NRM party emerged the biggest spender at tune of 333 billion shillings followed by Independent contestants who invested 77.5 billion shillings.
FDC came third with total expenditure of 12 billion shillings, Go forward pressure group spent over8.2 billion shillings and candidates from the oldest parties DP AND UPC came last with only 1.7 billion shillings. National coordinator Alliance for campaign finance monitoring Henry Muguzi says the study was conducted in 74 constituents in 16 districts representing 14.4% of the whole country.  The report indicated that the churches benefited more from donations made by the candidates.
