Police in Kamwenge District arrested Byaruhanga Christopher the Kanara sub-county Councilor to the district for attempting to bribe Cpt. Musana Yoweri the warden in charge Kyambura Game Reserve in Rubirizi District.
The councilor was arrested for attempting to bribe the warden to release the suspects who were arrested on Friday with 20kgs of Hippo Ivory, 4kgs of Pangolin scales and 2 long skins mature pythons.
According to sources, Byaruhanga was arrested red handed after the game warden told him that he will receive the 2m Uganda shillings currency cash in presence of the OCCIID and Deputy OCCIID of Kamwenge CPS.
