12 people were murdered during Easter.

The Uganda police force reports that the Easter celebration were held piece fully in the whole country although 12 murders were registered among others.

Addressing the press today at CPS Kampala the police spokesperson Asan Kasingye says that the 12 murders were in areas of Hoima, Kampala metropolitan Nsangi , Adjumani, Butalejja, Luuka and Nakapiripiriti where a husband was killed by his wife for not providing the Easter necessities.

He adds that four cases of defilement were registered in Amuria and Moroto where North West Nile experienced 15 cases of assault committed in social places among others.

During the same press conference, Kasingye applauded residents of Mpugwe who combined effort to arrest 8 youth who had circulated threatening letters.
