Young Egyptian diplomats are on a 5 day visit in Uganda.

Dr. Heba El Marassi the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister and Institute Director accompanied by Egyptian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Mai Taha Muhammed Khalil is leading a team of young Egyptian diplomats on a 5 day visit in Uganda. The group was received on 5th April 2017 and is being hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Arriving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, the guests were received and addressed by Senior officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Acting Permanent Secretary Ambassador David Etuket, Mrs. Juliet Sekitoleko Kibirige and Dr. Sam Omara, Ag. Director for Uganda Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs.

Dr. Omara, gave the young diplomats an insight into Uganda’s foreign Policy and led a vibrant discussion on the same. Amb. Khalil commended Ugandan for its close diplomatic relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt stating that her Government’s goals in relation to Uganda included improved partnership and economic relations, coordination of country positions, various strategic partnerships and direct communication.

Amb. Etuket emphasized the young diplomats the importance of understanding instructions, carrying out research and networking with colleagues from different countries. He also explained the importance of being both dependable and effective in carrying out their duties.

The young Egyptian diplomats’ trip to The Pearl of Africa will end on 7th April 2017.
