FDC condemns manner in which arrests are carried out

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has condemned the continued abuse of human rights as well as brutal arrests by security operatives in the country.

This comes after an incident last week where uninformed security personnel brutally arrested the one Yusuf Kawoya the Democratic party member at Christ the King church and taken to unknown place during a broad day light and wondered what happens when were being transported in Matatu car to their destination " Ssemuju wondered.

The  party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda during the party weekly press conference in Najjanankumbi told the Media that such acts gives no option to people to defend themselves unless they will turn violent hence problems in the country because people who are supposed to enforce law and order instead do it otherwise.

He further says the functions of police and military are different. The function of internal affairs are maintaining law and order are functions of police,but they are  increasingly deploying military for all sorts of crime  both simple and serious.  The military has taken over the work of police. they are the ones who are arresting the people . He adds that people arrested are innocent until proven guilty.

Semujju adds that security organizations in the country must revise their style of doing things because they might cause problems in the country.

Semujju has disclosed that deliberate keeping of Kawooya in unknown place means he might be dead and security is now stranded with his body because he was beaten much .

He calls for  respect of human dignity while arresting people hence  peaceful Uganda.
