Government injects Ugx 1.5Tn in Early childhood Development policy

Government has invested   1.5 trillion shillings into  implementation of the Integrated Early Childhood Development policy. The Policy due to be launched tomorrow will ensure a holistic integration approach to implementation and delivery of quality early child development services  like education, health, Nutrition, child care and protection, proper sanitation so that  Ugandan children get the best start in life. State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi says the development of children in the first eight years is extremely fundamental for brain development.

According to Neuro science, during early years, almost 100 brain cells connect every second, a pace never matched again. These connections are the building blocks of a child’s life, and they help to determine child reasoning, emotional, physical and social development.
