GOVERNMENT URGED TO SET UP TELE CENTERS TO BACK UP CITY WIFI

The Government has been advised to set up tele centers to enable members of the public access internet and be able to connect businesses and services faster.

This follows the recent introduction of free WIFI in selected places in Kampala by the ministry of ICT.

Researchers in Government universities have however said the introduction of free internet may not be so relevant in the city center but could benefit locals in rural areas.

The finding were announced at the conference organized by operations research society of East Africa that  connects four  universities of Makerere university Business school ,Nairobi university, Rwanda university and Dar salaam universities.

The society puts together researchers and policy makers in researching on the way people can improve their livelihoods through services and increased business linkages.

Waswa Balunwa the vice chancellor Makerere university Business school advises the government to set up tele centers in distant places from Kampala to enable people connect easily in transacting goods and services.
