Involve local government in implementing SDGs says UNDP boss

The United  Nations Development program has advised the Government of Uganda to involve local government leaders in implementation of the UN sustainable development goals.

The call was made by UNDP resident representative to Uganda , Rosa Malango in a speech at the launch of the National sustainable development goals roadmap at the office of the Prime Minister conference hall.

Rosa Malango says Uganda is at take off stage of implementing the key SDGs like gender equality, poverty eradication, reduction of inequalities and industrialization with consumption among others.

Rosa says it's important to involve local Governments since they are more closer to the local population.

The roadmap is to create an enabling environment for delivering of sustainable development goals
