Amuru district lc5 chairperson, Micheal Lakony says there is need of strong ties between the local government leaders, local leadership and cultural institutions to cover away gender based violence in the district.

According to him, the root causes to gender based violence in Amuru are, polygamy, drunkenness, and idleness especially to me side.

Now in an effort to address the mater, Amuru local government is in advanced process of drafting four bylaws on food security, education, avoid of producing many children and restricting the time of drinking.

Close to 150 cases related to gender based violence have been reported since the beginning of this year.
