The Human Rights Network (HURINET) has warned that the country’s security is in danger after reports that the system has been infiltrated by mafias.
HURINET Executive Director Muhammad Ndifuna says that there is a possibility of having the civilians owning the security once the system is not revived immediately.
Recently, the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura disclosed a mafia outfit that has infiltrated Uganda’s security and intelligence agencies by using their elaborate networks to commit sophisticated crime like financial frauds in collusion with employees of banks.
However, Ndifuna says that there should be a relationship between the citizens and the security agencies to avoid such dangers that are now cited.
