The Ministry of Health is planning to distribute a total of 2,655,840 mosquito nets in a campaign to reduce mortality and morbidity due to Malaria.
Health minister Sarah Opendi says phase two distribution will be conducted on Saturday March 25th and Sunday March 26th in 22 districts in the Teso and Karamoja regions.
Malaria remains the single largest killer disease in Uganda bit minister Opendi says the campaign has contributed to a reduction of the disease from 42% to 19%.
The first campaign saw a total of 23 million insecticide treated bed nets distributed throughout Uganda between 2013 and 2014.
The minister is appealing to leaders and health workers to sensitize people about the importance of sleeping under a treated mosquito net.
