The Uganda National Bureau of Statistics reveals preparations to conduct this year's National Population Census are in advanced stages.
The exercise will be conducted from 9th to 10th May 2024 All people that will be found in Uganda on the census night of 9th May 2024 will be counted, according to UBOS.
The senior public relations officer of UBOS Didacus Okoth reveals that they have recruited a total of 120,000 Field staff officers who'll be well equipped to conduct the counting.
A total of 147 other staff officers from UBOS have already been deployed to work with district census committees to ensure that the exercise goes on smoothly and well coordinated.
UBOS will be working with security agencies like police for the safety of the enumerators and the people who will be counted.The head counting of people will only be done during the day.
Thus the public has been warned to remain vigilant of fraudsters that may come at night purportedly to count them.
" You should arrest all people who masquerade as UBOS workers and enumerators who come at night for counting and hand them over to police". said Okoth.
