Reggae lovers should brace themselves for the Concert of the year come the 8th of October 2016 at the Cricket Oval Lugogo
Nile Gold, in partnership with Black Roots Unlimited will be flying in British reggae vocalist Maxi Priest together with Saxophonist Jackiem Joyner and Lin Rountree a.k.a The Soul-Trumpeter for the 9th Annual Nile Gold Jazz & Soul Safari.
According to TShaka “Roots” Mayanja, founder and CEO of Jazz Safari, this year’s edition will be all about Jazz-Funk and Lovers Rock, attendees can look forward to a line-up that has a Reggae offering.
Each year, our priority is to create artistic experiences that are representative of the diverse nature of the genre, creating new layers of the jazz landscape, said Mayanja.
Another reason for all to attend the concert is that the entrance fees have been slashed from shs 200,000 to shs 130,000 for the Gold tickets, while the VIP tables have been reduced from 3,150,000 to 2,500,000.
Reiterating the strong relationship between Nile Gold and the concert, Julian Ssentamu, the Nile Gold Brand Manager said, “This event is about bringing people together to enjoy dimensions and the different generations of jazz music.
“The creative artists we’re bringing together are pushing boundaries to create new, unique approaches that explore the true nature of jazz music.” She added.
Max Alfred “Maxi” Elliott known as Maxi Priest, is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent.
Maxi Priest christened the “King of Lovers Rock” by his fans is one of the most successful reggae artists of all time.
He is known for hits such as Close to You, Wild World, Just A little bit Longer, Easy To Love, If I Gave My Heart To You,I Could Be The One,Just Wanna Know,Holiday and Should I among others.
The concert is powered by of Jazz FM, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Coca Cola, Rwenzori Premium, Guvnor and Silk Events.
