Nurse dies after ambulance driver declines to transport her

Residents of the Eastern district of Bududa have asked the Ministry if Health to take action against the Hospital administration for neglect of duty.

Esther Akello a 36-year nurse at  Bududa hospital collapsed and died over bleeding after the ambulance driver said he only had instructions to drive referral cases to Mbale hospital.

The incident has sparked off confusion at the hospital. Now, Akello's colleagues want action taken against the driver.
Bududa Hospital serves over 500,000 people from the Bududa, Manafwa, namisidwa and some parts of western Kenya .
 The late Akello who was a nurse in the female ward at the hospital died at the neglect of the of the hospital administration who neighbors contacted when she collapsed and just ignored claiming that the ambulance never had fuel.
John Baptist Nambeshe the Manjiya Member of Parliament  who is also a former district chairperson says that there is rotting behavior among health workers in Bududa district .
Dr. John Baptist wanyaye the commissioner ambulance services in the ministry of health said that ideally ambulance service is supposed to be free to the patients.
He how ever says that the patients can only get to make a contribution when they district finds its self without money.
