Organizations advocating for rights and welfare of children in the country say, the only way Ugandan government to archive the ambitious goals of vision 2040 is by investing in children below 15 years to make them productive.

Apenya Louis, program director at SOS children’s village Entebbe says, with the average growth rate of around 3.30%, this means by 2020,  the population is going to be 42.2 million and 49% of the population is of children bellow the age of 15, therefore planning for them is much more needed.

Apenya made the remarks while receiving donation from China Communication Construction Company worth 15 million shilling to SOS children’s village Entebbe in an effort to improve the welfare of up to 900 children at the location.

Items involved in the donation includes, assorted food staff, mattresses, mosquito nets scholastic material among others.
