4 women are suspects behind the wave of attacks

The Inspector General of Police, Gen.Kale Kayihura has revealed that there is some element of politics in the gangs terrorising the country.

Addressing journalists at Katwe police station, on national security Kayihura said that intelligence and interrogations have revealed that some of the acts of cutting people with pangas, beating and robbing them are orchestrated by people for political gains.

He said that they are still investigating the claims but noted this intended to cause fear and panic among the members of public.

General Kayihura also paraded 20 suspects who are alleged to be behind the wave of attacks throughout the country including in Greater Masaka area.

Among those paraded include their leaders from different parts of country.  These are Mulindwa Juma, of Sir Apollo Kagwa, Tusime Sulaiman of Makerere, Steven Ssenyonga Kibuye, Engola Charles a guard at Mt Zion hotel, Kajubi Ronald a rapist, four women among others.
