POLICE RECOVERS 5 STOLEN VEHICLES

Five vehicles have been recovered in an operation conducted by police in Mbarara intend to round up criminals behind car theft in the district.

Rwizi region police spokesperson Vincent Ssekate says the operation was conducted after increased reports of car theft in area, and arrested several suspects but declined to name them since investigations are still ongoing.

In Kampala the flying squad department of police has recovered 12 stolen motor vehicles and arrested seven armed thugs. The flying Squad commander Hebert Muhangi says one of the suspects was arrested from Busega round about.

He says the suspect had stolen a Fuso lorry registration number UAX 574L full of maize flour at gun point.  All the seven suspects are now detained at Nateet, Kawempe, and the Central Police Station as investigations in the matter take shape.
