The deputy RDC for Masaka district Joseph Ssekasamba says they are investigating a group of politicians sabotaging the vaccination of yellow fever.
Ssekasamba says they have received complaints that some politicians are discouraging residents from taking a yellow fever shot and spreading rumors that the drugs is not safe and adds that the government is forcefully recruiting them to join NRM.
He cautions the people of Masaka to stop confusing yellow fever into politics because it kills whoever failed to get treatment irrespective of which political party you support.
The World Health Organization and ministry of healthy are advising people in Masaka and Kalangala to avoid movement to forested areas as one of the measures to avoid yellow fever.
Dr. Achen Ruth the director general of health services says resident should stop going to forest especially in the morning and late in the evening because their habitats for mosquitoes that transmits yellow fever.
