President Museveni has asked Ugandan to change their behavior to avoid what he called killer behavioral diseases.
Museveni cited drinking alcohol which can lead to killer diseases, heavy smocking that causes tuberculosis, and irresponsible sexual behavior that often results in acquiring HIV/AIDS.
The president made the remarks while opening the newly refurbished Entebbe Referral Hospital Tuesday 3rd May 2016. The renovation of the hospital with 166 beds cost Seven million dollars and was funded by the World Bank.
The hospital with a well facilitated executive wing, a maternity ward and OPD is expected to serve the communities in Entebbe as well as patients from as far as the islands of Buvuma and Kalangala.
President Museveni advised the residents of Entebbe Municipality that building hospitals is not the most important thing in health. He encouraged them to spend more time preventing the diseases instead of frequenting hospitals.
