The newly elected speaker of the 10th parliament Rebecca Kadaga has pledged to be objective and serve all the mps.

Delivering her acceptance speech as the new speaker of 10th parliament, Kadaga reminded members of parliament that the public expect from parliament better services, and accountability which she said should be their main focus.

She made the remarks after taking oath of speaker which was administered by President Museveni. The speaker also appealed to the president to support her in securing funds for the construction of the new chambers at the northern parking yard, saying the current chambers cannot accommodate the growing numbers of mps.

Kadaga went through unopposed. She was nominated by Ralpheal Magyezi and seconded by Dokolo woman mp Cecilia Ogwal
