As the parliamentary committee on commissions, statutory authorities and state enterprises concluded its investigations into the 6 billion shilling hand shake today, some MPs on this committee want Government officials who were involved in the oil case negotiations to refund the 23 million shillings they got as sitting allowances because there is no evidence that the meetings took place.
One of the members Itungo Nathan from Kashari south say that the attendance list which was used to pay the allowances is not evident enough to show that the meetings took place without the minutes.
Itungo say that the attendance list could have been forged for the sake of getting the allowances.

Intern doctors at Kabale regional referral hospital have gone on strike over unpaid allowances for 4 months.
According to sources at the hospital, the ministry of health owes the 26 training doctors at least 2.6 million each. One of the interns that preferred to remain anonymous says they literally run the hospital but the management does not recognize their efforts.
When Capital FM contacted the hospital Director Dr Alex Andema, he said he could not comment on the matter because he is not on ground. Although a meeting has been called by the hospital management to address the issues, the interns are adamant about attending it saying similar meetings have been held but the outcome has been intimidation and threats against the interns. They say they will wait until the director returns.
