The mini press brief that took place at the Capital FM premises at Kisementi also had celebrated TV and radio presenter Katongole Omutongole, currently of Beat FM, relay his excitement about the new partnership.
“Beat FM is undoubtedly the best Luganda speaking radio station in the country right now. And even when our audience is not exactly the type you’d call fashion savvy, they are excited and willing to learn about trends. They will be excited to learn about fashion and be in an environment full of people that exude such oomph. It is an opportunity we won’t take for granted,” explained Katongole.

Capital Fm joins a list of sponsors like Ciroc Premium Vodka, NTV, , KCCA, Bell Jamz, Uganda Police, Pemba Sports Africa, Sky Beach Freedom City, Fenon Events, Joram Model Management, MuleyiPr that are supporting the process of organization of the forthcoming Abryanz Style and Fashion awards that are due for 8th December 2017.

Unbelieveable! Michelle reveals,Obama wore the same Tuxedo for state dinners for 8 years

Former first lady Michelle Obama revealed during a candid conversation that her husband wore the same tuxedo for all eight years of his presidency during state dinners.
The mother-of-two shared the enlightening tidbit during her appearance at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California on Tuesday.
The 53-year-old Chicago native noted how she was photographed and scrutinized year in and year out for the dresses and accessories she sported for state dinners as they were highly publicized events.

But she said the former president easily got away with wearing the same outfit every year to state dinners.
‘This is the unfair thing — you talk about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers — no matter what we do, he puts on that same tux,’ she said.
‘Now, people take pictures of the shoes I wear, the bracelets, the necklace — they didn’t comment that for eight years he wore the same tux, same shoes.’
She continued, ‘And he was proud of it too. He’s like, ‘Mmm, I’m ready. I’m ready in 10 minutes. How long did it take you?’ I’m like, ‘Get out of here.’ ‘

The Harvard Law School graduate also shared the story behind the viral photo of her adjusting his bow tie just before they welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping and wife Peng Liyuan during a state visit in September 2015 to the White House.
She recalled that while waiting to greet the Chinese president and his wife at the North Portico of the White House, they were being photographed by ‘about 100 press people’.
‘So we’re standing there waiting for the cars to roll in … and I was bored,’ she admitted.
‘So I sort of thought, let me make sure my husband looks good.’

During the private Q-and-A session with Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, the former first lady also discussed several issues, including diversity in tech, STEM education, innovation and leadership.
‘We (in the U.S.) have been teaching math and science the same way for too long,’ Obama said. ‘How do we get them to loves these topics at (ages) 10 and 11?’
She said that the absence of girls and women in the so-called STEM fields has a deleterious affect on the tech industry.
‘I’m very passionate about girls education, and we still have a long way to go on equality and access,’ Obama stated.
‘We have to teach young girls they are smart and can compete.’

Pharrell’s joins three stars as to fly the Chanel fashion flag high

Pharrell’s making great strides in the modeling sphere. After making his first-ever runway debut (at Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show, no less, clad in tweed, double Cs, and questionable headwear that launched a debate at InStyle’s HQ), he has gone and landed himself the designer gig to end all designer gigs: the honor of fronting Chanel’s new Gabrielle handbag campaign.

But of course he isn’t the only one—Karl Lagerfeld tapped three other stars (and longtime Chanel reps) for a celebrity-fueled power quad: Kristen Stewart (who’s starred in Chanel campaigns since 2013), Cara Delevingne (forever muse), and Caroline de Maigret (French girl style icon-slash-Chanel brand ambassador).

Together, the foursome will showcase the beauty and versatility of Gabrielle (the design was presented at the brand’s spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear show), a bag that pays homage to its founder: it boasts the same elegant design codes that exist among all Chanel bags, its rigid base makes it durable and strong, and it hugs the silhouette (a nod to comfort being a main priority for Coco Chanel). Another unique feature: Its double-chain strap can be worn over the shoulder, across the body, or both at the same time.

Nigerian fashion journalist stages a plus size runway event

Lifestyle and fashion journalist Latasha Ngwube launched the About That Curvy Life platform to empower curvaceous women.
As a curvy female, the plus-size fashion advocate is all too aware of the stigma faced by the plus-size community in Africa, and is using her empowerment platform to start a much-needed conversation about body diversity. In a first, plus size models took to the runway at Lagos Fashion & Design Week held in October 2016.
“We’re getting a foot in the door. People have to see plus fashion in a way they never have before,” Ngwube told CNN. “You can become that which you desire if you believe that you deserve to be considered beautiful.”
The show took place after much lobbying to Lagos Fashion Week explains Ngwube. Not knowing what to expect, the plus-size models took to the runway, strutting designs from up-and-coming designers.
“I snuck into the crowd and was watching the girls go,” recalls Ngwube. “I was looking at people standing, screaming, clapping and I started to cry. I was shaking and crying in the crowd, I couldn’t contain it.
“I wish I could bottle that feeling and just sip on it every day of my life.”

Here is why you have that tiny pocket on all your jeans

I’m sure everyone has noticed that tiny, little pocket on the right side of your jeans and wondered what it’s doing there. Especially considering the fact that it’s inside a pocket which is functional and big enough.

What makes it more puzzling is that the pocket inside the pocket is not even hidden away. It’s not a secret pocket; it’s right there in plain sight.

So what is the point of that little pocket?

Well, being a guitarist, I could say that I use it for keeping my guitar pick.

Or, carrying that small pendrive, which gets lost easily if placed inside a bag.

Broke men hoard change inside it!

But did you know what it was originally meant for? It was originally a watch pocket!

Back in the 1800s, cowboys used to wear their watches on chains and keep them inside their waistcoats. To keep them from breaking, Levi Strauss introduced a small pocket where it could be securely placed.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!

My accounts & emails have been hacked. Google was fast to act and notified me accordingly. Facebook was not too fast so some of my friends have been conned and others chatted with the hackers who confirmed my alleged new faith. My earlier DISCLAIMER was deleted by the hackers. I shall not honour them by any further recognition through mentioning their society.

This therefore shall be my final response;

If I say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and I make the Most High MY dwelling,
no harm will overtake ME,

14 “Because I[b] love HIM,” says theLord, “HE will rescue ME;
HE will protect ME, for I acknowledge HIS name.
15 I will call on HIM, and HE will answer ME;
HE will be with ME in trouble,
HE will deliver ME and honor ME.
16 With long life HE will satisfy ME
and show ME HIS salvation.”

The only LIGHT that l know and believe in is that of JESUS CHRIST the king of heaven. Blessings-Santa Anzo

Having trouble keeping your shirt tucked in? Problem solved

Here is an interesting invention for those men who have trouble keeping your shirts tucked in the entire day.

Scruffy-types can now breathe easy with the invention of a new gadget that ensures shirts remain tucked into trousers at all times.

The fashion gizmo, called Signature Shirt Stays, is the brainchild of former Missouri salesman Thomas Eckard – and works like trouser braces, only in reverse.

Four clips latch onto the sides of shirt tails and are attached to elastic straps that run down either leg, fastening to the top of the socks.

The contraption means that the shirt remains pulled downwards and is guaranteed never to become untucked from the trousers – unless it becomes unclipped.

The invention could be a godsend to untidy men who fail to make a good impression by constantly struggling to keep their shirt tails hidden inside their trousers.

They are made using a ‘premium soft elastic’ which is comfortable to wear. They come in one standard size but the elastic strap is adjustable according to their wearer’s height.

Thomas Eckard came up with the idea after he found himself having to tuck himself in whenever he climbed out of his car in his old job.

A 2016 guide to choosing the right bag for your body type

Generally speaking when it comes to handbags, the opposite shape of your body type is the most flattering. When shopping, head to the dressing room, carry the bag as you normally would and check it out from all angles in the mirror.

Tall and thin

Choose handbags with a short, slouchy shape like the hobo. Avoid shoulder bags with a short strap as they will make you look even taller. Select handbags that are wider than they are tall. A clutch is a good choice.

bagz

Petite

Despite what you see in Hollywood, oversized bags aren’t for small women. Large bags tend to overwhelm your frame. Avoid shoulder bags with a long strap as they will weigh you down, making you look even shorter.bagz

Plus-size

Pick a large structured or boxy bag to balance out your curves. Don’t carry a bag that is too small as it will make you look larger. If you love prints, steer clear of tiny patterns.

Everyone

If you are splurging on an expensive bag, choose one that you will be able to wear often. There’s no need to spend $500 or more on a bag that will rarely make it out of your closet. If you are buying several inexpensive bags instead, pick one classic everyday bag in black or brown. Then, experiment with fun, funky styles and metallics for your other bags.
