The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has embarked on front trading Uganda Martyrs to market world over the other tourism attractions in the country.

UTB Executive Director Stephen Asiimwe says they have already marketed the martyrs among the tourism companies in several countries like America, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, England, France and Portugal among others.

He adds, through the ministry of tourism they are planning to modernize the 24 martyrs cites by allocating them with good infrastructures include accommodation that could attract long journey tourists to spend about 250 dollars every day.

Asiimwe further says that they are planning to make it a daily pilgrimage to all Martyrs sites by the targeted 1.2billion Catholics across the world.

Uganda Martyrs were 22 Catholic and 23 Anglican believers killed by King Mwanga after converting  to Christianity in the historical kingdom of Buganda.
