Uganda police force warns Vanilla farmers and buyers

The Uganda police force warns Vanilla farmers and buyers to be careful of the criminals who steal and transact immature vanilla seeds.

Addressing the press today at CPS the commandant of agriculture police Hillary Odoch says that theft of the immature beans and processing it has become a problem to the world market.

He says that this crime has been experienced in areas of Bikwe, Mukono, Ntoroko and Kasese among other areas and criminals have been taken to court and prosecuted.

Hillary Odoch adds that the ministry of agriculture has asked the various chief administrative officers in the country to use their various sub counties to make bylaws about immature harvest and immature processing not to be exported easily.
