Civil society organizations under Uganda women's net have condemned the continued murder of women across the country through all forms of gender based violence.

A dressing a news conference at their offices in Ntinda representatives of civil society organizations said that although the cases of violence against men have increased but many women are still experience physical violence at the hands of their husbands or partners.

Richard Makumbi from center for domestic violation prevention says that once violence against women is stopped; there will be no violence against men because the violence staging men is inclined to women who try to defend themselves.

The program coordinator Uganda Women 's Network ( UWONET) Sarah Jessica Ogwang demand that government implements the domestic violence act in totality by giving police the resources to handle the cases expeditiously.

The group also demands for a peace and reconciliation dialogue amidst the current political tension saying that whenever there’s conflict, it’s always women and girls who suffer most.
