Police in Jinja is investigating the circumstances under which two police officer's attached to counter terrorism were shot dead past midnight.
The commander flying Squad Hebert Muhangi identified the deceased as police constable Godfrey Wafula 38 year and police constable Simon Nuwamanya all were guarding Nalufenya flying Squad detention center in Jinja district.
Muhangi also identified the suspect behind the killing as police constable Hosea Ankunda who was also guarding Nalufenya flying Squad detention center.
The scuffle ensued from late coming after their was verbal exchange between flying Squad and counter terrorism officer guarding the entrance at Nalufenya flying Squad known as detention center for high profile criminal suspect.
The bodies were taken to Mulago hospital for postmortem and the suspect is currently detained at Jinja central police station.
