40 students of Makerere University have been picked by police and taken to Office of Prime Minister to meet education minister Janet Museveni.
Students staged a demonstration at the university in the morning demanding for the reopening of the university.
Last week the university vice chancellor Prof. Ddumba Ssentamu announced a postponement of the opening of the university to a later date because of the ongoing strike by non-teaching university staff.
Students argue that extending the dates of start of semester will affect their studies.
