Building materials were banned- UNBS

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards has visited the site of Moses Kyazze the building which collapsed on Monday after noon along Makerere road.

John Sanyu an official from standard bureau department of material testing says the material used to construct the 5 storied structure was substandard.

He says the iron bar used was barned by UNBS and the contractor used more sand than cement hence making building weak.

The officials have taken some samples including iron bars cement mixtures and stones to establish their durability and quality.

Meanwhile rescue team continues with search for survivors the death tall remain four, while nine people remain admitted at Mulago hospital after sustain serious injuries.
