An 18 year old woman has been handed a one and half year jail sentence at Luzira prison for giving police false information in relation to the unknown murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

Shiellah Nalubega a resident of Bukomasimbi in Masaka district has been sentenced by City hall court grade one magistrate Moses Nabende after she pleaded guilty to the offence.

The convict confessed to court that she did it only to get the reward money which police had promised to give to any person with information that might lead to the arrest of the said murderers.

While sentencing her, the magistrate ruled that Nalubega’s wrong information led to loss of tax payers money and that the sentence is to serve as a deterrent.

Prosecution states that on the 29th of April 2017 at Kyaliwajjala Nalubega lied to D/ASP Sophy Neboshi that she saw and knew the killers of AIGP Kaweesi which was not true.
