Following the just concluded Presidential address that almost offered no solution to the current fuel crisis, transporters are asking government and fuel companies to slash their profits by half ,a move that could bring the soaring fuel prices to a manageable level.

President Museveni blamed the rising commodity prices on the ongoing Ukraine/Russian conflict. However this did not go well with members of the public who had expected practical solutions that would lead to the reduction in fuel prices.

The Taxi Operators have also asked the government to intervene to save them from driving old cars that are posing a danger to passengers.

They are asking for exemptions to import taxis that are better than what they are using because the vehicles below ten years commonly known as drones are expensive.

They say they no longer buy newer cars because of affordability thus asking the government to have special consideration to have them importĀ  re-conditioned taxis to allow them transport passengers safely.
