Gospel Singer Babirye regrets joining politics

Renowned gospel singer Judith Babirye regrets venturing into politics saying that the move negatively impacted her life.
She explained that politics created differences among her fans which put her music career at stake and her lifestyle as a whole.
”I reached a moment where I could not rub shoulders with my former friends including Erias Lukwago, Judith Nabakooba, and Bobi Wine, yet they were very close friends”.
Babirye said that she does not consider herself a politician, but rather a servant of God adding that she abandoned politics as it hindered her services as a God’s servant .
She noted that joining politics was one of the biggest mistakes she ever made in her life and one that she will never repeat.
Judith Babirye who had been elected as the Buikwe District Woman MP in the 10th Parliament 2016–2021 ran for one term but did not even manage to complete the five years. She fed to Canada, where she is currently based.
