Drama has erupted this morning at the Nakawa magistrate court as police barred relatives of the 20 people charged with the murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi, his body guard Kenneth Erau and driver Godfrey Wambewa from accessing the court premises with no reason communicated.
This morning the relatives as usual had come to show support to their relatives as they returned before grade one magistrate Noah Sajabi for mention of their case.
However police refused them from entering court following previous appearances where they expressed dissatisfaction on how their relatives who were sick are being treated.
The relatives say the action of police is an abuse of their rights to attend court proceedings for their loved ones who have veen on remand since march this year.
Meanwhile prosecution has informed court that investigations into the case are still ongoing forcing the magistrate to remand the suspects back to luzira prison until the 29th of june 2017.
The 20 suspects include a woman Ayub Sauda, and 19men led by Abdu Rashid Mbaziira.
These are charged with 5 counts including murder, terrorism and aggregated robbery.
Prosecution led by Rachael Nabwire states that the suspects on the morning of 17th/March 2017 at Kulambiro within Kampala district shot dead AIGP Felix Kaweesi, his body guard Kenneth Erau and his driver Godfrey Wambewa as the trio drove in the official Uganda Police vehicle to work.
