Police have warned all those inciting Ugandans to desist from paying the social media tax and other controversial taxes like mobile money to avoid using public speakers.

This follows the arrest and impounding a mega speaker that was playing a voice inciting members of public for not paying the said taxes.

Addressing journalists at the Central police station, the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said police is currently investigating the voice behind this message. Kayima adds that intelligence has it that using such means of communication can propagate other criminal acts of terrorism.

He says this is because a criminal can easily plant a bomb in these mega phones which can easily explode killing all those converging around it to listen to this message
