- More clinics to be opened countrywide
Rocket Health, Uganda’s leading telemedicine provider has opened its clinic in Gayaza in a bid to take health services closer to the community.
The managing Director Rocket Health Dr. Davis Musinguzi notes that the clinic is well positioned to address challenges of high transport costs to health facilities, limited specialist services, and equipment at health facilities among others that communities have been facing.
The clinic offers immunization, minor surgeries, antenatal care, Cancer screening, family planning and Wellness check-ups services.
Dr. Musinguzi revealed that they are planning to open up more clinics country wide as they try to take services closer to the clients.
“This is the first of very many clinics we are going to open across the entire country, so we are gonna make sure that everybody across the country can experience a rocket health service. So this is the first of many so expect us to be in many other cities across Uganda very soon" he said.

According to Dr. Musinguzi, the health centers are designed to amplify the adoption of telemedicine and healthcare delivery to solve challenges of long queues and time lost in transit in traditional health care.
The Gayaza facility is also offering walk-in services such as imaging and dental to complete the end to end value chain of the Rocket health solution.
“ Demand for what rocket health was capable of doing went through the roof.and ever since we've been trying to catch up with being able to meet this demand. For us the Gayaza clinic is also really a testament of what is possible when it comes to meeting this demand for health care”
People of Gayaza and surrounding areas have been traveling long distances to get quality health services, and to be able to use their health insurance but now Dr. Musinguzi says “we are now bringing all these services awo ku near for the people of Gayaza and everybody else around here”.
The Wakiso District Health Officer Mathias Lugoloobi appealed to the rocket health team to keep up the good customer care service and pledged the district support to the team and vision bearers of Rocket Health telemedicine in Uganda.
