A  bodaboda rider has been remanded to Luzira  prison on charges of beating up a police officer while resisting a lawful arrest. 

The suspect  Johnson Turyasingurawas charges with assaulting  a police officer in execution  of his duty while trying to arrest him over traffic related offences.

The Prosecution led by Lydia Nakato states that on November 7th 2023 at Miniprice in Kampala business centre , the accused assaulted Police Constable Stephen Omonding who at the time acting in the execution of his duty.

Grade One Magistrate Siena Owomugisha remanded him to luzira prison until the 29th November  as investigations   into his case continue. 

Still in court ,a 22 year old Burundi Natianal identified  as Singirankabo Francis was remanded  to Luzira prison on charges of theft.

He appeared before Buganda Road court grade one magistrate  Fidelis Otwao and denied the offence of theft.

He will return to court on the 20th November 2023  for trial.

Prosecution  states that the suspwct during the month of September  and November  2022 at Kajja Market in Kampala stole 535,000 from Wakabi Henry.
