Uganda Calls for Lifting of Travel Restrictions on the African continent.

Uganda is calling for urgent liberalization of Africa’s aviation industry saying that air transport is the “business of freedom.
The Vice President Jessica Alupo noted that this will facilitate the movement of goods, people and investment, and it can be made possible by having a liberalized Aviation sector in Africa to stimulate and promote economic and social integration.
The Vice President made the remarks as she represented President Yoweri Museveni at the official opening of the two day 55th African Airlines Association (AFRAA) assembly at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel in Kampala .
Uganda's Minister of works and transport Gen Katumba Wamala called for the removal of travel restrictions on the African continent if the African aviation industry is to grow.
According to him , travel restrictions like VISA requirements are not necessary and should be removed so as to allow free movement of people and goods.

Katumba was addressing the 55th AFRAA annual general assembly being hosted in Uganda by the National Airline,Uganda Airlines.
Delegates attending the assembly have been asked to discuss ways of working together to prevent wildlife trafficking.
James Musinguzi the Executive director Uganda Wildlife Education Center-UWEC asked delegates to address concerns of wildlife trafficking as Airlines are the main culprits involved in their transportation.
The two day annual general assembly has attracted multi billion companies , CEOs and Global leaders in the aviation industry.
Uganda is the current chair of AFRAA under the leadership of Jennifer Bamuturaki the Chief Executive Officer at Uganda Airlines.
