Former leader of opposition in parliament Hon. Matthias Mpuuga says drunkards and marijuana abusers cannot dislodge president Museveni from power.

Citing President Museveni who has always said he does not drink alcohol nor smoke, Mpuuga says aspiring leaders must pick a leaf from the president and lead by example.

"You can’t lead people when you are not sober. The one we want to remove from power Museveni does not even take wine while others speak and you wonder what have they taken or drank."

"Tell those interested in leadership positions to stop going to bars, getting drunk and smoking marijuana," Mpuuga adds, while at a recent gathering in Mityana Municipality.

It is not known whether he is referring to National Unity Platform President, Robert Kyagulanyi, who was known in the public space as one that used such substances when he was still an active musician.

Mpuuga, has also scoffed at legislators leading the censure motion against him and the commissioners involved in the controversial allocation of Sh1.7 billion service reward, saying most of them did so out of ignorance adding that of late MPs do not make decisions soberly and should stop going to bars before making decisions.

He fell out with the party principal Kyagulanyi in March after he received Shs500 million as service award that he insists that it was justified gratuity.
