The US Ambassador to Uganda William Popp says the deployment of Peace Corps across the country does not only bring the 2 nations closer together but also creates jobs and improves lives of millions among other factors
Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of over 20 Peace Corps volunteers who will now be sent to different parts of the country, the Ambassador says these men and women come with a lot of experience in different fields including education, health and agri business among others.
This after 11 weeks of training in local language, safety and security, medical and technical area.
“The peace corps partnership with Uganda communities, schools, organizations and institutions demonstrates the direct impact this has in the lives of millions of Ugandans”, he said.
He urged the Peace Corps to remain focused, resilient and true to themselves.
