MDA’s showcase E-government services

National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-Uganda) hosted a successful E-Government Excellence Expo at the Garden city Rooftop under the theme “Bold Digital Government”, Disruptive technologies.
The event that attracted close to 30 exhibitors, and was officially opened by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of ICT & National Guidance Dr. Aminah Zawedde .
At the expo, she noted that E-Government improves accessibility and eliminates barriers to accessing public services by reducing discrimination and promoting both inclusion and efficiency of service delivery adding that her ministry will continue ensuring the adoption of online services across all of Government.
It presented a remarkable platform where ministries, departments and agencies had an opportunity to engage with clients and share their service delivery experience as well as their advancement in leveraging technology.
The event was also graced by the Chairperson of the ICT committee of parliament Hon. Moses Magogo .
Speaking at the same event, the Executive Director at the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda said that the exhibition will help to facilitate access to online services for citizens and encourage people from all walks to life to come and use the existing e-services.
In his remarks about the subsequent webinars at the expo, on new technology, he remarked that disruptive technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, all can be used to facilitate economic recovery and growth in Uganda.
