UETCL Blood Donation Drive to Boost Supply

Following alarming rates of blood shortage in most health centers across the country,Uganda Electricity transmission Company Limited (UETCL) staff with support from Uganda Blood transfusion Service have embarked on a blood donation drive to increase supply to those in need.
The activity that kicked off on Wednesday 14th June 2024,is part of the events towards the commemorating the world blood donor day.
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated each year throughout the world on 14 June to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to recognize the contribution of voluntary unpaid blood donors in saving lives and improving health.
The day that rans under the theme "*Share life, Give blood"s a commitment to Corporate social Responsibility.
Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients and those battling cancer.
According to United Nations, Uganda collects 350,000 out of the 450,000 Units of blood that are needed to save life
UETCL is committed to the Social well being of it's staff and the community at large in guarding our core values through team work by donating blood .
UETCL is an ISO certified Public limited company, owned by Government of Uganda after starting operations in 2001.
It holds operational licenses, Syster Operator, Operation of High Voltage Transmission Grid, Bulk power supply, Import and Export of power; and Public Infrastructure Provider (For ownership and operation of the optic Fibre).
