Uganda's national netball team, She Cranes exhibited a dominating performance over Trinidad & Tobago at the Netball World Cup 2023 in Cape Town on Sunday.

She cranes collected 74-33 scores and finished second in Group D.

The emphatic win saw Uganda come second behind title holders New Zealand, and the win made Uganda progress to the next round of the competition.

Mary Nuba who came in for Christine Namulumba at the start of the second quarter, dominated the shooting arc with 35 goals including a couple of sweet layups.

Margaret Baagala continued to excel in the middle with 39 assists while Irene Eyaru and Shadiah Nassanga had 18 and 17 goals respectively.

Uganda looked shaky and trailed 4-1 in the opening exchanges but later found the rhythm and took control.

They led 14-11 after the first quarter and opened a 33-18 advantage at the long break.

Uganda will be regrouped in the second preliminary round where they will face off with Hosts South Africa, Jamaica, and Wales.
