Anti corruption coalition advises the president against donations

The executive director of Anti Corruption coalition Uganda, Cissy Kagaba says president Museveni should not deceive the country that he never used money in politics.

According to her, if president’s intentions are not to bribe the voters, he should avoid giving out money inform of donations to communities, churches and to the groups of women and youth amidst the time of campaigns.

While meeting NRM District chairpersons at state house Entebbe over the weekend, President Museveni warned the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party leaders against what he described as unnecessary use of money in elective politics.

Mr Museveni, who is also the NRM national chairman said commercialization of politics, is not practical and sustainable, according to a statement released by Mr. Rogers Mulindwa, the NRM party spokesperson.
