Bobi Wine too busy for questioning: Katana

Kyadondo East member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has not turned up at CID headquarters as per the summons to record statement.

Hon Kyagulanyi was expected to report at CID headquarters Kibuli on Friday but he sent his lawyers represented by Benjamin Katana of Pace Advocates to represent him.

On Thursday police summoned Hon Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobiwine asked him to report to the acting Commissioner in charge electoral and political crimes Directorate on 26th_April 2019 at 2pm Kibuli CID headquarters.

While at Kibuli , Katana told the media that his client is a law abiding citizen but the summons reached him on short notice yet he had other commitments hence he could not turn up.

He said that he has agreed with deputy CID Joseph Obwona that his client appears on Monday at 11am.

Police says on 22nd Bobiwine allegedly involved himself in inciting violence and unlawful assembly which defied the IGP's guidelines during the preparation of Kyarenga extra concert in Busabala on Easter Monday.

Last week, the director of operations Asuman Mugenyi cancelled Kyarenga extra concert saying that the organizer failed to comply with the regulations which were set.

According to the letter signed by Director of police operations Asuman Mugenyi who says the first concert of Kyarenga had been characterized with multiple incidents of theft, public nuisance, violation of traffic rules and misconduct.

Mugenyi in his letter further said police intelligence showed that the concert was a risk to public safety.
