National Social Security Fund emerged the gold winners at this year's Financial Reporting Awards that were held simultaneously with the International Accountants Day.
While speaking at the ceremony, Constant Othieno Mayende, the President for Certified Public Accountants of Uganda noted that theft and the misuse of public resources are the key reasons to why many nations especially in Africa are lagging behind in terms of development.
He further urged accountants both in private and government offices to guard themselves against all forms of theft practices by upholding the values of professionalism.
